Fighting Words
Posted On 10/10/2010 12:00:01 by GrayGeek

I was watching the show Inside Washington on PBS today when a panelist and Washington Post editor, Colby King, said "I'd punch them out" refering to protestors at the funerals of dead soldiers.

There is a limitation on free speech one of which is "fighting words" - the type of language Mr. King employed.

I have BDs, which is why I'm one this site, and have a reduced ability to distinguish between hyperbole and real threat especially by supervisors in employment.  When I reque... Read More

How many synapse are there in the human brain?

I don't know - I'm not a brain specialist. I had to get my dictionary out just to see how to spell the word. But isn't it a bit like asking how many stars are in the sky?

Another Day another BULLY
Posted On 08/23/2010 09:53:48 by STAGEPROMO

i was disheartened this AM to awake to the news that a writer for VQR- was bullied to the point of suicide. i caught it on NBC's Today show. They showed where this poor guy had made seventeen calls to HR in just the week previous to giving up. His "boss" had harangued this poor guy from day one- and the real shame was in the fact that the "boss" was obviously twenty years junior to the writer. This guys fellow coworkers knew what was going on, but instead of staging a revolt: they just kinda... Read More

BULLYING
Posted On 11/02/2009 13:57:11 by STAGEPROMO

i was appalled to hear about the gang rape of a fifteen year old last week in california. We'll have to make room for one more casualty to a world gone awry.

Our world is becoming full of bullies. Bullies at school, Bullies in the workplace, Bullies in Congress. Bullies are everywhere. Hell i've even seen bullies in the checkout at the grocery store. One of us had stated in a previous blog about the end of days and how the demons will cover the earth. i too, fear that time has com... Read More
