NKM2  will be joining the Mental Health Association of Santa Barbara in screening the movie "Canvas" at the Heroes of Hope Awards.  The special event includes a pre-show reception, followed by an awards ceremony honoring Joey Pantoliano, producer and lead actor, and Joseph Greco, Director.  Guests will be treated to a "Q and A" session.    

The Heroes of Hope Awards will take place at the newly refurbished Granada Theatre (granadasb.org) in Santa Barbara.  Joey Pantoliano and Joseph Greco will be on hand to receive this achievement award for their commitment and passion to erasing the stigma associated with mental illness.  They will be featuring their labor of love, the movie "Canvas."  The collaboration with the Mental Health Association began in April  2008 when Joey and Joseph spent the weekend visiting the venue and viewing the Mental Health (mhainsb.org) construction site of 51 apartment units and offices in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.  As a result, Event Chairs of the September 27 celebration, David and Marie Prenatt, joined the FRIENDS of NKM2. Together with the Executive Director of the Mental Health Association in Santa Barbara, Annmarie Cameron, everyone will be heading to Washington DC in May 2008.
